Shannon Ferguson and Kris McCarthy co-founded FanSaves in 2017 while managing the Marketing, Sales and Sponsorship of two minor professional hockey teams. They have a combined 25 years of marketing experience and are experts in the realm of sponsorship.
Their award-winning company has been making waves in the sports tech and sponsorship industry as their digital couponing platform is revolutionizing the way sports teams connect their sponsors with their fans, making it easier for teams to offer digital activations and offers all in one place. Teams use FanSaves as their own Digital Coupon Book while also tapping into the couponing network that the platform provides.
Shannon grew up in Cornwall, Ontario and after university worked at large marketing agencies in Montreal, Calgary and Toronto before returning home and opening her first business which led her to co-founding FanSaves. She has won multiple awards including a Business Elite 40 Under 40 Award (Canada), an Ottawa Forty Under 40 Award and was awarded Ottawa’s Businesswoman of the Year- Emerging Entrepreneur in 2022.
Kris is from Ottawa, Ontario and played seven years of professional hockey, later managing multiple minor professional teams. This passion paired with a Business degree from SUNY Potsdam led him into the world of Sports Marketing and this experience has helped propel FanSaves forward. Kris leads the Sales and Business Development at FanSaves and has been integral in securing the company’s league partnerships with the AHL, ECHL and USL as the “Official Digital Couponing Platform”.
The Canadian tech startup has been growing exponentially and is part of the third cohort of the ComcastNBC Sports Tech Accelerator. They are currently partnered with more than 75 organizations and over 1,200 businesses increasing activation and fan engagement while gathering important customer data and analytics. Kris and Shannon have both relied on their competitive sports background, teamwork and dedication to grow their business across North America.
