GROWING WOMEN’S SPORT
BREAKING BARRIERS AND LEVELLING UP
A TTG Canada Hosted Panel at Western Sponsorship Congress
PANEL OVERVIEW
The popularity of women’s sport is on the rise. In 2015, we saw it at the gate when Canadians turned up in record numbers across the country to watch the Women’s World Cup. In 2016, we saw it with widespread support of our female Olympians in Rio and the birth of a household name overnight in Penny Oleksiak. And, in 2019, we saw it when TSN hosted the first all-female coverage of the latest edition of the Women’s World Cup -- not to mention a female hockey player skated in NHL All-Star skills competition for the first time and Team USA Women’s World Cup Jersey broke Nike sales records, becoming the No. 1 jersey sold, men or women, on Nike.com. It’s clear that attitudes and behaviours towards women’s sport are changing and the tide has started to turn. But harnessing the moment (and momentum) will require the collective focus of the industry, from grassroots to high performance and everything in between.
Joined by leaders in the sports industry, TTG Canada will lead a panel discussion on the topic of growing women’s sport in Canada. Our panel of experts, ranging from Olympic Athletes to Sponsorship Hall of Famers to major event operators, will share their experience, the highs and the lows, and dig into opportunities and challenges ahead for women’s sport in this country. Whether you are a small property or a big one, a regional brand or a national one, a young professional at the start of your sponsorship career or an established vet, this panel has something for you. In the 45 minute session we will provide delegates with a new mindset and actionable framework on how to breakthrough with audiences and challenge the status quo.
It’s time to harness the moment. It’s time to level up. Are you ready?
